1. Keep his commands.
a. The love of God is perfected.
b. Walk in the same manner as Jesus.
2. The new Old Commandment.
a. Be lovers--of others.
1) because the darkness is passing away.
2) because the Light is already shining.
3) because you won’t cause others to stumble
b. Not haters--lover of self.
1) It shows that you walk in darkness.
2) You don’t know where you are going.
3) blind eyes.
B. My growth (1 John2:12-14)
1. Little children
a. Your sins are forgiven
b. You know the Father *basic knowledge.
2. Young men
a. You have overcome the evil one!
b. You are strong.
c. The Word of God abides in you.
3. Fathers
a. You know Him who was from the beginning. *intimate knowledge
C. My treasure.
1. The temporary are not from the Father.
a. The world
b. the things of this world
c. Lust of the flesh
d. Lust of the eyes
e. Pride of life. *boasting in your status
2. The one who does God’s will, will live forever.
